The lymphatic system is the body’s sewage system. It is a network of organs and tissues that help the body get rid of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials.

The main function of the lymphatic system is to transport lymph, a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells throughout the body. If the lymphatic system malfunctions, then toxic material buildup will happen inside the body.

Likewise, 80% of American women now suffer from a sluggish lymphatic system. In this article, we will discuss the several methods by which we can improve our lymphatic system’s functioning.

Methods

Breathing

Stop whatever you’re doing and take deep breaths to be able to transport the body’s toxins to your blood and release the flow through the lymphatic system.

Water

Lots of filtered water is important. Do not include other drinks that have too much sugar to help you achieve a healthy hydration level.

Regular movement

Engage in regular exercise for excellent circulation and to help the lymphatic system flow fluidly.

Vegetables

Green, leafy foods are known to purify the blood so make sure you eat a lot more of these in your daily diet.

Fruits

Eat raw fruit on an empty stomach in order to boost your lymphatic function.

Herbal teas.

Consult with a herbal specialist on the best herbal tea for you. But if you can’t find an herbal specialist, then choose between Echinacea, astragalus, goldenseal, or any other herbal tea (organic please only!).

Nuts and seeds

Always unsalted.

Hot and cold showers

Combine hot and cold showers for several minutes. The heat dilates the blood vessels and the cold causes them to contract. However, avoid these showers if you have heart disease or pregnant.

Massage

Body massages can galvanize your stagnant lymphatic system back into circulation. Request for a special lymph drainage massage to generate better functioning of your lymphatic system.

Dry skin brushing

Using a natural bristle brush, brush your skin in circular movements, starting from your feet up through your body, your fingers and arms to your chest. You can also massage your scalp too. Do this before taking a shower.

Morning Lymphatic Drainage System Exercise

Drink a cup of lukewarm water with a few drops of lime or calamansi in it 30 minutes before having your breakfast. Make sure to sip the water slowly and occasionally. This helps in flushing out the toxins from your body early in the morning.
