A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Eastern Finland and published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, revealed that a forecasted 5.5 million Americans may face the potential risk of being victims of toxic antipsychotic drugs like “haloperidol and risperidone”.

The study reported that users of antipsychotic drugs have a 60% increased risk of dying, especially among those with Alzheimer’s disease. This conclusion was arrived at by the researchers for those who imbibe antipsychotic drugs for long-term use. The risk was doubled if the patient uses two or more antipsychotic drugs.

Of course, this trend can be attributed to Big Pharma companies who are benefitting from the sale of their antipsychotic drugs – even though previous studies may have identified the link between antipsychotic drugs and Alzheimer’s Disease some time ago.

The researchers arrived at their findings on the results of the national Finnish Medication and Alzheimer’s Disease Study (MEDALZ) which studiously tracked 57,755 people with Alzheimer’s between 2004 and 2011. None of the subjects were using antipsychotic drugs, had a history of psychiatric disorder, or had cancer at the time of the study. About 27% of the participants started using some type of antipsychotic drug during the follow-up period.

If this is the case, then is there no hope to help a loved one or friend suffering from Alzheimer’s disease?

Actually, there is – especially if you visit the Dr. Farrah Agustin-Bunch Natural Medical Center in Victoria, Tarlac. There, we will analyze and teach you the best way to cure your illness with all-natural, organic and plant- and herb-based remedies and treatments.

For instance, there is a story that a U.S-based doctor stopper her husband’s Alzheimer’s disease progression by feeding him four teaspoons of unrefined coconut oil every day for a year. The guy slowly but surely recovered and managed to exercise enough to take care of himself and take purposeful steps to keep Alzheimer’s disease for good.

And this is what Dr. Farrah’s Natural Medical Center does. We teach people that prevention is always better than the cure. We instruct people to proactively do something to prevent a disease from occurring in their lives, such as –

* Regularly exercise. One study discovered that healthy, regular exercise reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s disease by as much as 50%.

* Eat Right. Switch to a brain-friendly diet full of green, leafy vegetables, fruits, nuts and very little or no red meat. You can still get your protein, especially your Omega-3 fatty acids from fish (those without scales and caught in the open seas), and your “good fats” from the use of unrefined coconut oil. These foods reduce inflammation in the brain and in the body, as well as reduce the production of free radicals in your system.

* Mind Play. Regular and constant mental stimulation leads to a lower risk of contracting Alzheimer’s disease. Encourage the elderly to do crossword puzzles or join a group or association of elderly people for a night of quizzes and charades.

* Get adequate, undisturbed sleep. The body gets rid of toxins while we sleep. Make sure your elderly patient gets lots of that.

By following these steps, one can stave off or prevent this debilitating disease from occurring or help calm a loved one from being stressed out with Alzheimer’s, rather than turning to Big Pharma’s medications.
